This River I Step In;
Hiking on the Cheltenham Badlands, Caledon Ontario.
Olde Baseline Road can be seen on the right side of the photo. The Badlands were created by poor farming practises in the 1930’s. The soil appears red (due to iron oxide concentrations) with white streaks (exposed veins of Queenston Shale).
Wasaga Beach, Ontario. August 18th 1944 (exactly 48 years before I was born)
I missed my bus home so I’m waiting for the next one (in half an hour). It’s so cold and I feel like the little matchstick girl, only instead of matches, I’m eating my way through a bag of rice crackers to keep me alive.
It’s exam and finals time! Here, have an awkwardly posed self portrait in my absence.
